ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a Manager, Consumer Insights to plan and execute research studies end-to-end to answer JUUL’s most critical business questions to inform decisions about commercial strategy. The ideal candidate will perform primary consumer research to enhance our knowledge of the consumer, category, and competitive landscape.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Support shopper-based initiatives in the online and offline retail environments via custom shopper research and integrated syndicated/basket data analysis to inform retail strategy
- Strong technical insights expertise in translating business questions into survey and discussion guide content
- Prioritize, design, and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies that enable tactical decisions and JUUL program optimization through a consumer data driven approach
- Manage the overall project timelines, ensuring that milestones are met and signed off at the various stages of project execution
- Create and share story driven reports that identify business growth opportunities (and challenges) with clear recommendation/actions to be taken by stakeholders
- Apply the right research methodology and analytic approaches to complex business problems
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders and vendors
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required Experience: 7 years of related work experience in a market research and/or consumer insights role
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities along with an analytical aptitude and a passion for uncovering insights
- Proven track record for designing and managing large scale research programs: questionnaire design, sampling approaches, analysis planning, and reporting
- Experience identifying and prioritizing key market segments
- Experience with a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies (e.g. journey mapping, attitudes and usage (A&U), creative development, shopper insights)
- Apply the right research methodology and analytic approaches to complex business problems (e.g. KANO, TURF, MaxDiff, Conjoint, van Westendorp, Price Laddering)
- Experience distilling actionable insights from complex data and explaining findings to stakeholders in a digestible and compelling manner
- Ability to synthesize data and glean insights from syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI, NPD, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with senior level stakeholders
- Collaborative attitude that allows you to work cross-functionally to develop a plan, get alignment, and execute it
- Team player who possesses a driven personality capable of working in a fast paced, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment
- Location is United States (Remote) may require occasional travel to other locations as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) including the ability to use macros to increase efficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with survey applications (such as Qualtrics, Decipher, Survey Monkey, Google Consumer Surveys, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of when to apply different quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Experience with analytics / business intelligence tools (R, SPSS, SAS, Tableau) a plus
- Experience in shopper research methods and activating shopper insights in a retail environment preferred
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in market research, marketing, business administration, statistics, economics, or related field. Master's degree or PhD degree highly desirable
