Job Overview:

Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Engineering Technologist to join our engineering team in Greensboro, NC. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Reviewing and approving design work for improvements and upgrades to Distribution Systems from the substation to the customer.  
  • Meeting with engineering firms, contractor specialists and contractors in the field.  
  • Responding to questions during construction of the upgrade to the system.  
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Develop advanced skills and the ability to work independently. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in expertise. 
  • Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities. 
  • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches. 
  • Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance. 
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 3 years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 5 years equivalent experience with no degree 
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds 
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience in the utility industry is preferred 
  • Distribution and power design is preferred  
  • Understanding of basic principles of project management 
  • Experience with Distribution Design include reconductoring and underground cable replacements. 
  • Frequent site visits are required. 
  • Knowledge of Maximo or these alternatives: 
  • UpKeep Asset Operations Platform.• SAP ERP Suite - EAM.• IFS Cloud. • E-Business Suite - Enterprise Asset Management. • eMaint CMMS. • MVP One. • Ramco Enterprise Asset Management. • Fiix CMMS. 

The salary range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licenses and certifications; and other related skillsets. The disclosed range is an estimate and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
