Primary Responsibilities: Financial reporting, maintaining the effectiveness and accuracy of JD Edwards to provide correct and timely information, supervision of Finance team, safeguarding of corporate assets.
Description of Duties:
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Overall responsibility for all accounting and financial reporting. Leads month end closing process. Ensures timely production of monthly financial statements and reporting.
- Responsible for calculating / analyzing monthly inventory reserves, PFS inventory valuations, inventory overheads, FIFO reporting, leases, long term debt, royalty accruals, etc.
- Cash management / Treasury responsibilities includes responsibility for daily funding requirements and monthly reporting for Wells Fargo Bank. Serves as the primary banking contact.
- Leads in developing annual operating budget and in monthly forecast updates.
- Responsible for company’s accounting ERP system. Primary super user of JDE. Possesses extensive knowledge base of financial systems. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring financial systems, files and processes.
- Key resource to CFO, active interaction with other Senior Managers, including President by identifying key issues and presenting analysis clearly and concisely to support corporate performance improvements.
- Investigation / analysis of all variances between actual financial results and budgeted amounts, reporting these results timely to management.
- Initiate process improvements within accounting department to improve quality and quantity of daily activities.
- Daily supervision and active interaction with Finance staff.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Responsible for yearly internal audit testing and compliance.
- Responsible for financial aspects of the company’s activities including providing financial information to external auditors, bank filings, and tax preparation for Corporate.
- Responsible for monthly Royalty accounting and reporting.
- Preparation and filing of monthly sales / use tax returns.
- Assist with yearly Physical Inventory counts.
- Oversee processing of weekly check / wire runs.
- Monthly reconciliation of Corporate American Express cards.
- Assist with the preparation / filing of year end 1099 reporting.
Individual must have strong analytical skills, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. Must possess at a minimum a BS degree in Accounting. Minimum 5 years of prior experience including supervisory experience. Advanced excel knowledge and JDE World experience at must.
