The controls designer is responsible for creating electrical and pneumatic schematics and electrical panel layouts for packaging machinery, within a given timeframe, that meets the customer’s specifications using creativity and innovation.
Your role in our team
· You will specify electrical components
· You will design electrical schematics and control panel layouts using EPLAN software
· You will design the machine safety systems
· You will develop standards for panel design, layout and wiring
· You will apply electrical standards compliant to all appropriate national and international standards (including, but not limited to: UL, NEC, EE, CE, IEE, CSA, etc.)
· You will manage the electrical panel construction area keeping it safe, efficient, and organized
· You will develop solutions to improve the controls design process
· You will provide suggestions for design improvements or changes during all phases of machine design
· You will assist with electrical troubleshooting during machine power up and debugging
· You will validate the machine electrical system in preparation for factory acceptance testing
· You will communicate and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner
Your profile
· You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
· Your experience with electrical design software is preferred (EPLAN, AutoCAD, etc.)
· Your experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
· You have the ability to travel to the customer site
