What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kyc associate position at K2 Integrity?
K2 Integrity is looking for a remote Know-Your-Customer (KYC) associate to support engagements in our Financial Crimes Risk Management Regulatory Compliance practice.
The candidate will carry out complex KYC file reviews for institutional customer segments and will perform quality assurance over KYC files in accordance with client policies and procedures.
Qualified candidates will possess prior experience in institutional KYC, including customer name screening, customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and specialized due diligence for complex and high-risk institutional client segments (e.
g., personal investment companies, private wealth, pooled investment vehicles, exchanges and over-the-counter brokers, and cryptocurrency companies).
Responsibilities : Work on engagements related to USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Know Your Client (KYC), and all other laws, regulations, and requirements designed to establish processes to detect and prevent money laundering, fraud, and terrorism.
Manage assigned tasks related to KYC institutional customer file reviews, quality assurance, and customer file uplift, including drafting transaction narratives and providing recommendations on customer file deficiencies (both material deficiencies and technical deviations).
Perform customer name screening and CDD / EDD research as required to ensure customer file completeness to client standards.
Using strong investigative / analytical skills to formulate and clearly articulate a supportable customer risk decisions as part of a holistic KYC file review.
Conduct transaction analysis in the course of KYC file reviews, including simplified blockchain due diligence, as needed.
Solve basic problems and escalate to senior team members when appropriate. Meet production targets. Interface with clients in a professional manner, including being prepared prior to client meetings to resolve questions and issues.
Meet deadlines and manage evolving / shifting deadlines. Maintain effective working knowledge of KYC requirements and a thorough understanding of client policies and procedures following training.
Meet clearly defined productivity and quality assurance standards. Be resourceful offer creative solutions to problems faced by project leader.
Complete training, onboarding, and technology / tooling checks timely to facilitate efficient engagement on-ramping. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements : Four-year college degree or international equivalent. 3 5 years of relevant experience at professional services firm and / or financial institution in a KYC role covering CDD and EDD.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working for a fintech and / or cryptocurrency firm / exchange. Proven ability to work remotely and meet production targets.
Ability to work both independently and within a team. Strong analytical and decision-making / critical-thinking skills. Strong writing skills : must be able to write clear and concise reports and communicate with management.
Ability to show initiative and provide proactive updates. Strong internet research skills and familiarity with public database (e.
g., Companies House, Charities Navigator, Guidestar, etc.). Proficiency at conducting due diligence using tools such as LexisNexis and internal KYC systems.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (pivot tables, charts, PowerPoint, etc.). Preference will be given to candidates with experience using Google Suite and Slack.
