What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer position at K2 Integrity?
The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the firm’s core systems in accordance with established guidelines and with special focus on networking, availability, security, and reliability. The candidate must have a broad technology skill set with a background in networking and Microsoft technologies both on premises and in the cloud. This is a very hands-on position that requires knowledge across a broad range of networking technologies and knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem. Experience or familiarity with Fortinet or HPE Aruba technologies is a plus. The candidate is expected to maintain and enhance their technical knowledge by participating in training sessions, attending seminars, and reviewing publications.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the daily operations of the firm’s core systems infrastructure
- Provide technical support for networking such as: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, wireless and security.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of applications
- Serve as an escalation point for Level 2 operational support
- Comprehension of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, SSL/TLS, etc.)
- Strong Knowledge of routing & protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IPSec, Dynamic DNS, Spanning-Tree, SD-WAN
- Strong Knowledge of switch and firewall platforms such as Fortinet and Aruba, with the ability to design and troubleshoot new implementations
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience as a Systems/Network Engineer
- Four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field
- Experience with Azure Cloud Networking
- Experience with Azure Active Directory including Azure Conditional Access and Azure SSO
- Experience with a broad range of Azure Cloud PaaS offerings such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Web Services, Azure Storage Accounts
- Experience across a broad range of Microsoft Infrastructure Cloud Technologies such as Azure Site Recovery, Azure Defender for Cloud
- Experience in Windows 2022, 2019 and its accompanying roles and features
- Knowledge of HPE Aruba Product Line
- Knowledge of Fortinet Product Line Including (FortiGate, FortiEMS, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager)
- Knowledge of Azure Networking and Azure PaaS offerings
- Knowledge of Azure Site Recovery
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting A/V equipment
Minimum salary: $90,000 | Maximum salary: $130,000
