We currently seek to fill the position of Quality Inspector on first shift (M-F 7 AM to 3:30 PM) to perform inspections accurately and timely to ensure that a quality product is manufactured according to all required specifications before the product is shipped to the customer, all while advancing KBC’s mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains test inspection criteria for all KBC products.
- Conducts in-process inspections at the plant and/or at suppliers as required.
- Performs final pre-shipment test and inspection of various KBC produced and subcontracted products. This involves use of a portable CMM (coordinate measuring machine) arm.
- Develops and maintains Product Quality Specifications. This includes assisting our suppliers in understanding our specifications and requirements unique to KBC products.
- Establishes in-process inspection points and identifies special fixtures, jigs, and inspection equipment unique for our products. This will include identifying when and where the instruments are needed.
- Administers Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and the deviation processes.
- Assists in resolution of warranty claims and completes failure analysis as needed.

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required for the position, and at least five years of related experience.
- Must have a broad knowledge and experience in fabrication, machining, and assembly and a high degree of technical capability.
- Experience working under a QMS/ISO 9001 business quality system is required.
- Must be proficient in the use of all typical test and inspection equipment used in the evaluation of product.
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ERP system, and portable CMM knowledge is required.
- ASQ Certification is a plus.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs. requires two people or the use of a lifting device.
