The Junior Systems Engineer will be part of a team of systems engineers charged with providing systems engineering expertise to the NSWCDD Integrated Combat Systems Department (V) to plan and execute systems engineering activities in support of current and future Combat System Command and Control (C2) functions.
Primary Duties:
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

The Junior Systems Engineer will be part of a team of systems engineers charged with providing systems engineering expertise to the NSWCDD Integrated Combat Systems Department (V) to plan and execute systems engineering activities in support of current and future Combat System Command and Control (C2) functions.
Primary Duties:
- Review all new requirements for CIAT, which is the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer
- Support requirements working group efforts within the user community
- Review the Test Observation Reports (TORs) that have been generated against CIAT, including managing the backlog of TORs
- Provide evaluation on-site, in the lab, alongside Software Developers, Testers, and Integrators
- Work closely with third party vendors, stakeholders, and sponsors through daily duties such as Working Group Meetings
- Be located on-site in an air gapped facility at NSWC Dahlgren
- Candidate must understand system lifecycle stages and the latest systems engineering standards from INCOSE.
- Experience or familiarity with preparing and reviewing technical documentation including but not limited to System Requirements Specifications, Capability Requirement Documents, Capability Production Documents, System Engineering Plans, System Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, Interface Design Documents and Specifications
- Ability to advise and provide technical leadership to multiple requirements working groups that include government and contractor personnel
- Knowledge of AEGIS Tactical System (in specific CIAT), desired but not required
- Ability to work in an air-gapped environment on classified software products
- Ability to communicate effectively within a large, dynamic team environment
- Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills.
- Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality

- Ability to adapt to evolving technology
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in Systems Engineering, Integration of Combat Systems, Testing, and Similar
- Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification desired
- Experience with Systems Engineering in an Agile development environment, desired but not required
