KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Logistics Analyst, to join our team.
Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing full life cycle Cybersecurity, Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Training and Education services focused on optimizing customers’ program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices. Our headquarters is in California, MD near Naval Air Station Patuxent River. We have many other locations across the country.
This position will provide support for the fielding/production logistics phases of projects within a PMA at Pax River Naval Base.
Primary Duties:
- As a member of the fielding/production acquisition team support the development and implement the support and maintenance concepts as well as the maintainability requirements for assigned systems. These concepts and requirements are the foundation for overall logistics planning and management through the product lifecycle.
- Perform cost analysis and life cycle costing studies for assigned systems to support Cost Department Cost Adjustment.
- Develops and approves logistics maintenance requirements analyses; documentation requirements for Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotes and other contractual documents based on input from logistics element manager, other ILS considerations, and special aspects of assigned systems. These include, in addition to support elements, major milestones, time schedules, total cost elements, required documentation, system maintenance engineering inspection and mock-up parameters, manpower and readiness, and other considerations.
- Directs the performance of logistics and maintenance analyses by the contractor. These analyses address logistics elements, preventative and corrective maintenance requirements, and maintenance levels or repair. The analysis package examines, evaluates, develops, and compares economic, equipment performance, and safety factors as a basis for the foundation of the ILS and maintenance programs. Approved analyses will become part of the detailed ILS specifications and plans.
- Plans and manages the actions required for the procurement of resources needed for system support. Reviews and approves contractor maintenance factors to be validated.
- Conducts on-site review of contractor logistics/maintenance.
- Recommends development/production go-ahead to the system program/project manager the acceptability of the system from a logistics/maintenance standpoint.
- During the production phase, plans and manages or performs the following activities:
- Reviews and approves any changes to logistics documentation including maintenance plans.
- Reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), assesses the impact of the changes to ILS, and recommends approval/disapproval based on the results of trade-off analyses between improved performance, supportability, and additional costs.
- Tracks all ECPs from the date of approval to final installation of the change on each end item.
- Supporting the Master Index of Repairable’s which maintains repairable items identification, application, configuration, and projected maintenance workloads for five years.
- Creates, track, modify and support the generation of Technical Directives and the fleet release (includes ALL aspects and any type of TDs).
- During the operation support phase plans, manages, and executes the following:
- Plans the phasing of end item logistics support responsibilities to the field.
- Implements all aspects of the ILS plan. Modifies the logistics or maintenance plans, and Master Index of Repairables, as planning factors and/or requirements change.
- Review and assesses the logistics impact of ECPs and recommends approval/disapproval.
- Studies failure and support problems of cognizant systems. Determines causes for problems and either develops programs or gives direction to resolve logistics deficiencies or recommends design changes when problems do not result from support deficiencies or when current support technology is insufficient. Tracks the status of corrective actions.
- Directs the Readiness Improvement Program (RIP) to determine the maintenance workload accomplishment as compared to the projections, the cause of non-achievement, and the remedial action necessary to correct the deficiencies. Track the solution status of RIP actions.
- Creates, Track, modify and support the generation of Technical Directives and the fleet release (includes ALL aspects and any type of TDs).
- The incumbent continuously explores logistics/maintenance techniques possible application or integration into existing systems.
- Reviews and approves program price-outs and budget submissions from logistics element managers during all the life cycle phases. Ensure that all Logistics support requirements are identified, appropriately cost estimated, and budgeted for.
- Acts as a Point of Contact on Fielding/Production IPT team for logistics/maintenance planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. May be a substitution for years of experience in lieu of degree.
- At least five (5) years of experience in operational logistics support. Experience with operational logistics planning and operations ILS requirements.
Clearance: This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires an ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance.
