What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Volunteers position at Kaiser Permanente?
Job Summary:
Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the local volunteer department under the direction of the Volunteer Services Supervisor. Maintains the volunteer programs in accordance with the stated mission and goals of the service area.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responds to department requests for volunteer assistance, establishing schedules and implementing all programs established by Supervisor.
- Supervises volunteers.
- Trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates volunteers at a specific sites.
- Maintains the interrogate of the fiscal procedures or the revenue centers (e.g., gift shop), including deposits and daily/monthly activity reports.
- Ensures compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies such as TJC, DOC, NCQA, CAL OSHA, and bargaining units.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in volunteer administration and supervision required.
Education
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in retail management, record keeping, and accounting required.
- Experienced in resolving conflict and building partnerships.
- Previous events management skills and public speaking required.
- Ability to work with a diverse group.
- Demonstrated knowledge of PC and various applications required.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration preferred, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
Notes:
- Required to work different locations within San Diego Service Areas
- Travel is up to 50% of the time should be expected.
