What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Inventory Operations position at Kaiser Permanente?
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing the medical center supply chain operations within their hub or grouping of medical centers. This includes managing, onboarding, and leading the Materials Coordinator positions, implementing and sharing best practice supply chain processes, and measuring and monitoring key supply chain metrics. This position works closely with the clinical operations teams and the purchasing and logistics functions of the Materials Management team.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the Materials Coordinators and all supply chain functions within a given service area. Responsible for onboarding and training new Materials Coordinators, ongoing training and competency of team. Responsible for ensuring Materials Coordinator coverage within service area.
- Runs and tracks daily, weekly, and monthly supply chain management reports. Develops action plans, where needed, and reports progress to senior Materials Management leadership.
- Maintains high level of customer service with clinical operations. Rounds medical centers on monthly basis to check-in with clinical operations on open issues, improvement opportunities, etc.
- Performs management audits of supply stocking locations, loading dock, documentation of record, etc. to ensure compliance with all SOX and EH&S policies and supply chain best practices.
- Manages successful completion of product recalls, substitutions, and contract conversions.
- Partners with clinical operations and Materials Management to optimize and standardize the pars across the service line and to identify and share supply chain best practices across the Region.
- Maintains compliance with designated SOX and uniform accounting policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Five (5) years of experience in materials management/supply chain required.
- Three (3) years of demonstrated experience with procurement systems required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience required.
- One (1) year of experience in a multi-facility health care environment is required.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
- N/A.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with measuring and monitoring performance metrics.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing financial data.
- Demonstrated experience with email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results while handling multiple priorities under minimal supervision.

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
