What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Applications Analyst position at Kaiser?
Provides strategic support to Pharmacy Project Manager. This includes support of one or more applications, including the Pharmacy System, Pharmacy Call Center or Central Refill/Mail Order Pharmacy. The scope of systems supported includes Inpatient PIMS, Outpatient PIMS, and other systems that may interface to PIMS such as Chemotherapy, Home IV, and Automated Dispensing systems. Other functional units include the Centralized Refill/Mail Order Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Call Center. Provides testing and implementation support as required.
Essential Functions:
- Provides support to the Pharmacy Project Manager.
- Supports all database related activities required to support inpatient PIMS, outpatient PIMS, Call Center, and/or Central Refill/Mail Order Pharmacy.
- Supports PIMS and other software releases in all software testing phases.
- Implements systems and system changes as required.
- Makes on-line adjustments to the database to update all aspects of drug records.
- Ensures the integrity of all databases, including PIMS, Call Center, and Central Refill/Mail Order Pharmacy.
- Creates and updates drug records specific to KP, including pricing updates, physician files, medication additions and clinical updates.
- Provides database support for other pharmacy systems linked to PIMS, such as automated dispensing systems (Inpatient or Outpatient functions).
- Provides support for system users within guidelines set up by the PIMS database manager.
- Rotates on-call activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with diverse groups, including professionals (Nursing, MDs, Pharmacists) and nonprofessional staff.
Education
- Pharmacy degree required.
License, Certification, Registration
- Must be a registered California pharmacist.
Additional Requirements:
- Expertise in data processing, Call Center and/or robotics operations.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and written skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work on or coordinate concurrent multiple projects.
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills, the ability to build consensus and bring diverse team members together to perform are essential to this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in an inpatient or an outpatient Kaiser Pharmacy or equivalent strongly preferred.
