General Description:
The NDE Leve II position is responsible for performing the hands-on NDT inspections, interfacing with the onsite client, and preliminary evaluations of inspected items. This individual reports directly to the Inspection Foreman.

- Ensure a safe work environment.

- Maintain required NDT level 2 certifications in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A and contractors NDE program.
- An NDT Level II individual shall be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment for task at hand.
- Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, specifications, procedures, and customer's specific requests.
- Properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDE, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record accurate results.
- Perform NDT Inspections on various piping, tanks, pressure vessels and components.
- Perform inspections and reporting in accordance with Inspection guidelines.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation analysis from inspections performed.
- Walk, climb and maneuver on or around piping, piping supports while working in a crouched position.
- Carry and effectively manipulate a 16-foot ladder.
- As required by various jobs and clients:
- Read isometric drawings.
- Execute safety and permitting requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair equipment.
- Operate vehicles and equipment (with certification or license)
- Responsible for proper transportation, control, and disposal of hazardous materials in technicians' control
- Direct, instruct, and be a positive role model to the Level l or Trainee that is accompanying them on the job.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrate and ensure overall commitment to Safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to lead and mentor an inspection crew.
- Ability to climb stairs/scaffolding/ladder while holding handrail with opposite hand.
- Knowledge of various applications of NDT techniques and methods used to collect inspection data utilized in support of integrity management programs.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
- Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and wastes.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
- Climb stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding up to 100 feet multiple times per day, utilizing three points of contacts. May work in a crouched position for extended periods of time. Work extended hours in hot humid temperatures.
- Daily overtime will be required.
Physical Requirements:

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 65 pounds from floor to waist, 65 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 65 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
Required Qualifications:
- ASNT Level 2 certification for UT
- ASNT Level 2 Certification for PT
- ASNT Level 2 Certification for MT
- Two years' experience utilizing real time radiography for the detection of CUI
- Two years' experience interpreting real time images for CUI interpretation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions
- Pass a Background Check and Drug Screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- API 570 Certification is preferred.
- ASNT Level 2 certification for VT
- ASNT Level 2 certification for RT
- Current IRRSP or State Radiographers Certification
- Digital Radiography certification utilizing flat panel technology is preferred.
- Current IRATA Level 1 or higher certification is preferred.
- Experience utilizing the following equipment is preferred:
- QSA/Envision C-arm
- Teledyne C-View
- QSA Snapshot
- SAIC RTR4
- Automated crawlers utilizing pneumatic gamma sources
