GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this job is to support day to day operations within the Sheriff's Office i.e., Operations, Jail or Support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate radio, telephone, or computer equipment and applications within Support, Jail or Operations division.
- Assist KCSO visitors at the front desk, enter pistol permits, register sex offenders, and take FIOA and Inmate account payments.
- Answer routine inquires and refer calls to appropriate departments and agencies.
- Log out and transport evidence to and from the Crime Lab and the Sheriff's Office.
- Retrieve and transport SD cards to and from the Crime Lab and the Sheriff's Office.
- Promptly reports problems through the chain-of-command.
- Maintain current knowledge of Sheriff's Office policy and procedure.
- Perform related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or actively attending high school to earn a diploma.
- No prior experience required.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic bookkeeping, modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment, including applicable software is preferred.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature and document/record information - entering and receiving information from all relevant sources is strongly desired.
- Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen and thorough background investigation.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- Must have valid Michigan Driver’s license.
