Full-Time Financial Specialist

The Finance Specialist works under the immediate general supervision of the Finance Manager and is responsible for the assisting with the duties of the Finance Manager.

Work with the Finance Manager to fulfill the financial requirements of a growing and evolving organization, including:

• Enter and process accounting information in QuickBooks Online and prepare reports
• Perform the Accounts Payable function.
• Prepare deposits.
• Maintain donor database software (contributions, event proceeds, acknowledgements).
• Extract information from client/patient software for processing and analysis.
• Analyze accounting, donor and client data as needed, and prepare reports.
• Reconcile certain general ledger accounts.
• Prepare financial procedures as necessary.
• Track grant income and expenses.
• Interact professionally with colleagues, donors, vendors, clients and volunteers.
• Prepare information for and assist with annual external audit.
• Assist with preparation of annual budget, and periodic analysis.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Associates Degree in Business or Finance, or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years financial experience
• Excellent team player with a positive attitude, and ability to lead by example and work cooperatively as part of the KHS team.
• Willingness and aptitude to learn quickly and to respond professionally to constructive criticism. Attention to detail. Proficient written and verbal skills. Candidate must be highly motivated and take initiative as appropriate.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred), Microsoft software (primarily Excel and Word), google, and willingness/ability to learn new software.
• Flexible and open to changes in responsibilities, processes and procedures, and using electronic data storage
• No history of animal abuse or neglect or history of violence against other people.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
