KPEP is a community based program providing both residential and non-residential services to male and female offenders. We have facilities in Kalamazoo, Benton Harbor, Battle Creek and Muskegon, Michigan. This position is at our Benton Harbor facility. We are seeking therapists/counselors interested in a rewarding career working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The ideal candidate would have the ability to set firm boundaries while also creating a therapeutic alliance, and possess or are open to learning the unique dynamics associated with substance use disorders, sexual offending behaviors and entrenched criminal thinking. Experience with assessments and group and individual session facilitation is preferred.
Requirements: Master's degree and professional counseling license required. MCBAP professional development plan within 6 months of hire.
KPEP is a STAR approved facility. The STAR Loan Repayment Program will pay up to $250,000 to awardees in exchange for six years of full-time employment that involves direct treatment or recovery support of patients with or in recovery from a substance use disorder.
