About the Opportunity
Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a Financial Aid Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert and liaison with the Information Technology department while ensuring systems and processes are functioning as intended and in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies. This position also supports and maintains the processing of financial aid.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor for system updates and test system for changes and patches to ensure timely implementation.
Perform system roll forwards for semesters and aid years as needed.
Work with job scheduling system to ensure the needs of the students, institution, and regulations are all met.
Conduct functional systems testing and troubleshoot issues identified.
Create and design financial aid batch processes.
Manage daily disbursement of financial aid funds to student accounts.
Perform transmittals of financial aid to the Department of Education.
Reconcile Pell grant amounts monthly, assist with financial aid reporting and communication needs such as gainful employment, loan disclosures, exit counseling, attendance monitoring, standard academic progress, and FISAP.
Supervise the Student Financial Services Representatives, who serve as a first point of contact to students entering the office or reaching out in regards to their charges, making a payment, or related to financial aid.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Skill in utilization of variety of technology tools such as Microsoft Office, student information systems, and reporting software.
Skill in problem solving.
Skill in attention to detail.
Skill in analyzing data.
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate education, training, experience and talents are requirements for this position. An example of this would be an Associate degree in an appropriate field and experience equivalent to three years in related work.

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Some evening hours required.
