What are the responsibilities and job description for the DoD Cost Analyst position at Kalman and Company?
Kalman & Company is seeking a highly motivated, performance driven individual with strong business and cost analysis experience to work closely with our Government client in Orlando, FL through partially remote delivery. The resource will have to support in person meetings several times a week. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills and the capability to lead, or principally contribute to, several of the largest and most significant studies in Kalman's portfolio. Financial management, program management, and data science experience are also preferred.

The Business Analyst position will include, but not be limited to, the following capabilities:
* Lead and manage program office analysis activities:
* Lead, develop, update, and apply mathematical and logical methodologies for estimating program, business system, or component costs.
* Lead, develop, update, manipulate, and maintain cost and affordability models
* Lead efforts in collecting, normalizing, and analyzing complex data
* Build and defend budget requirements
* Forecast future funding needs
* Evaluate contracting strategy and courses of action
* Conduct planning for acquisition of capabilities
* Identify sustainment cost impacts of acquisition decisions
* Identify interface maintenance funding requirements for all affected platforms/systems
* Manage solution delivery to a baselined schedule
* Provide a basis and supporting materials for briefings to management at the executive and oversight levels for all affected program/project funding requirements
* Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet organizational and project goals
* Have a strong understanding of the Department of Navy (DoN) Acquisition process
* Lead in the preparation of briefing materials and other communications packages presenting the results of analysis
* Communicate and work with diverse organizations and representatives for data collection, analysis, and results presentation
* Provide thought leadership clearly demonstrating an understanding of the customer mission and innovative ideas to address business challenges of the customer
Required Education/Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics
- US Citizenship is required.
- The ability to obtain a government issued Clearance.
- 5 years of DoD cost estimating experience.
- Knowledge of ACE IT Software.
- Certified Cost Estimator / Analyst (CCEA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision.
- Experience presenting analytical results to senior leaders/stakeholders.
- Possession of excellent data gathering and analytical skills
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
