Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Manager for an opportunity in support of Marine Corps Logistics Command in Bridgeport, CA. The Warehouse Site Manager (SM) serves as the primary points of contact to the Government LMS/COR and/or ACOR in support of the Marine Corps Consolidated Storage Program (CSP). The salary for this position is 64,480K/year.
The Site Manager will manage a team of people within warehousing, logistics, and inventory management. The primary objective of the CSP to provide organization and individual issue, recovery, storage, requisitioning, maintenance and repair, management (including visibility, accountability, automated shelf-life management, and forecasting) for equipment to support the warfighter.
Under the auspices of the Marine Corps Logistics Command, the CSP is the Marine Corps designated manager of fielded ICE, CBRN-D, STAP and SWS&CN. Via a centrally managed global network of regional and individual base facilities, CSP ensures that Marines worldwide have a single access point for serviceable equipment to meet their mission requirements. The Site Manager will recruit, lead, coach, mentor, develop, train, and schedule warehouse personnel while working with the Operations and Site Management teams to remain on schedule and meet customer requirements.
Specific Duties:
- Support and report to the Regional Manager
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Conduct warehouse operations at the direction of the Regional and Program Manager
- Ensure employee compliance to company and production procedures.
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to warehouse workers; communicate job expectations to employees Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the project team to ensure set productivity targets are met.
- Identify training needs and communicate to the Regional and Program Manager
- Assist the Regional and Program Manager in developing and/or updating standard operating procedures for each operational process Ensure operations meet and exceed performance expectations.
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
- Recommend operational process improvements to the Regional and Program Manager
- Ensure inventory count and location at or above organizational standards.
- Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems.
- Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing operational procedures and practices; communicate to the Regional Manager
- Implement quality assurance procedures in accordance with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Implement inventory control procedures in accordance with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Manage customer service activities including customer satisfaction and resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Achieve high level of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of order.
- Maintain inventory by conducting weekly cycle counts and reporting results to the Inventory Control/Quality Assurance Manager and Regional Manager; reconcile variances.
- Ensure operations comply with all contract and legal requirement, and safety regulations as well as organizational policies.
- Implements business support strategies for the management of its commodities Coordinate with client on initial fielding, sustainment, items authorized for repair.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
- Supervises assigned personnel.
- Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility, and objectives for assigned program(s).
- Assigns and directs work.
- Determines the means, methods, and materials for performing work.
- Plans the work operation.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Prior Warehouse and Leadership experience.
- Must have strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control systems.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate a variety of tools i.e. banding tools.
- Experience using warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and handcarts.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and practices.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT Moderate to Loud sound (e.g., construction sites, warehouses, people traffic), extensive outdoor weather conditions and all routine job tasks inherent in position; the ability to stand and walk one-third to two-third of the time; the ability to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus.
