What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician II position at Kalsec?
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Kalsec equipment, and facilities as directed by the Facility Supervisor
- Ensures that a safe, clean, and efficient work environment is promoted and that all safety policies are followed by contractors and others working at Kalsec.
- Ensures that all local, state, and federal building codes are adhered to when overseeing work in the facility.
- Performs field documentation required to maintain and keep updated drawings of all utilities and facilities for Kalsec.
- Maintain project information in appropriate Kalsec information systems (such as ECO, Project Database, M3, FreshService) to ensure others understand the scope, as well as the overall status, of the project.
- Maintain both interior and exterior of administrative buildings to quality standards set forth by Kalsec and the Architectural Review Committee
- Provide 24-hour on-call assistance on facility/maintenance issues for Kalsec facilities including, but not limited to, investigating and performing leak repairs and supervising and/or performing after-hours work.
- Meet and ensure adherence to all the requirements of a Kalsec, Inc. Job Supervisor (KJS).
- Lead small project delivery by developing scope of the project, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Continuing Kalsec’s sustainability program by identifying, developing, and implementing energy efficiency, and energy reduction programs.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
- Certification in building maintenance or technical area of expertise. (Or equivalent on the job experience)
- 5 years of construction/facility maintenance.
- Ability to communicate with non-technical users to identify requirements.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures relating to safety, documentation and quality set forth by Kalsec.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and good communication skills.
Desired:
- Facility maintenance in an industrial/commercial/lab environment.
- Field experience in lab and/or pilot environment dealing with fume hood, lab gas, and building automation control systems.
Equipment Operation:
- Shop Tools, Kalsec vehicles, elevated platform lift, boom lift
- All equipment relating to the following systems:
- Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration
- Steam and Condensate piping and control
- Compressed Air and Air Dryers
- Specialty Gas piping and control
- RO Water
- Power distribution
- Building Automation Control
