JOB SUMMARY:
Performs manual sorting and visual inspection for specific defects or foreign material on a variety of parts manufactured both internally and by outside suppliers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sort parts to the Quality Visual Aid (QVA) criteria for defects and/or foreign material. This activity may take place in multiple different locations (i.e., at a table, at the repack station, at other locations as required).
- Set up scales, make boxes, and labels cartons.
- Completes required paperwork specific to each part’s sorting instructions.
- Complete basic SAP activities to start and complete a job.
- Perform purge activities to ensure the equipment is properly cleaned prior to the next job.
- Performs basic housekeeping and clean-up around station.
- Basic use of the pallet jack and electric pallet jack to support the process.
- Communication with the forklift operator, as necessary, to support continuous operation. This communication may be direct or through an andon light.
- Support hand pack and repack activities.
- Ensures required safety practices are supported and followed in the assigned area, this includes KAMAX approved safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times.
- Support a Quality focus to ensure all inspection activities meet QVA criteria and are successful; while also ensuring to meet basic performance requirements per FOR-QU-0044_US Table Sort Production Results Sheet.
- Pack work on a machine as necessary
- Related functions of the job
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
- Must be able to sit or stand at a station and sort parts for long periods of time.
- Physically be able to continuously lift 30 pounds throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
- Must be able to complete low level data entry on a computer.
- Noise – Laboratory machines.
- Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
- Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
- Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.
- Responsible for complying with regulations and standards covered under MISOSHA as well as not damaging, moving, interfering or removed any safety related item that is provided
- Continuous training focused on achieving a minimum level 3 table sort on FOR-QU-0047-US-Table Sort Skill Matrix Review.
- Support and complete other organizational improvement topics (i.e., 6S, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) as requested.
- Support any OPEX activities as requested.
