JOB SUMMARY:


Responsible for managing a Quality Management System designed to monitor and measure effectiveness of business and production processes to meet internal/external customer requirements and overall responsibility for plant-level quality functions. Key stakeholder representing KAMAX in customer and supplier relations related to quality and service.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Lead, coach, and mentor cross-functional teams of supervisors/managers, engineers, auditors, and laboratory technicians.
  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality assessment systems.
  • Satisfy customer and internal quality metrics.
  • Spearhead corrective actions resulting from customer concerns.
  • Approve suppliers and monitor their quality and delivery performance.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams (production/supply chain/quality) to conduct effective “root cause” analyses and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop and champion adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Resolve critical issues/situations, ensuring that they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing the Quality budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage customer visits and third party audits; obtain necessary certifications.
  • Actively lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train colleagues on a routine basis.
  • Visit customer and vendor locations.
  • Maintain monthly goal charts and monthly reports, including year-end reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelors degree in Quality Assurance or equivalent and 8 years in manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills required.
  • Technical leadership and management abilities.
  • ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 knowledge.
  • Approachable, hands-on style with the ability to engage with people at all levels of management
  • Must be able to demonstrate accomplishments in setting strategic direction, prioritizing tasks, and overcoming obstacles.


ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:


  • Noise – laboratory machines.
  • Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
  • Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
  • Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.
  • Responsible for complying with regulations and standards covered under MISOSHA as well as not damaging, moving, interfering or removed any safety related item that is provided.
