North American based construction and retail company is seeking an Estimator to join their growing team of dynamic professionals. This position will be responsible forbuilding both conceptual and hard bid estimates for design-build and competitive tender projects involving modular buildings, and in some cases, general construction disciplines. This position reports to the Lead, Design & Estimating.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete full analysis and detailed reviews of the sales bid request packages, client RFP’s and detailed construction bid documents (drawings and specifications).
- Develop responses to RFP’s with design-build solutions in the best interest of the company and the client.
- Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, the scope of work and supporting information for review with the senior leadership team.
- Conduct a complete analysis of the bid request packages and prepare coordinated bid documents for an issue to vendors and subcontractors for pricing requests.
- Capable of putting together a Build of Quantities (BOQ) / Build of Materials (BOM)
- Works closely with the Supply Chain Team in obtaining pricing for materials and equipment
- Review and compile subcontractor quotations
- Understand internal labor requirements to capture and carry the necessary project build labor hours.
- Ensure day-to-day communication between all departments involved is upheld, ensuring a clear understanding of our joint responsibilities and commitments.
- Develop, monitor and maintain a centralized database of vendors, cost data, equipment and productivity factors.
- Ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Understand and abide by our company Structures & Logistics Safety Absolutes and relevant OH&S policies and procedures
- Ensure quality standards/installations and projects meet both client and internal stakeholder requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand drawings & bid documents (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office 365, Bluebeam Revu, and experience using MS Project
- Ability to adapt and quickly learn custom-built estimating software and how to use the available tools
- Self-starter and works well under pressure and within a team atmosphere
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to liaise effectively and professionally with management, vendors, consultants, and staff
- Demonstrated analytical, time management and organizational skills
- Experience working in design programs such as Auto Cad, or Revit is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in construction, commercial or industrial, estimating role
- Degree in engineering or related field required, or a combination of education and experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
