Description of the Position: Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard.
Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
- Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.
- Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
- Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can't be self-corrected to the leadership team.
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
- Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

- Two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in a safety, compliance, or security-related field (e.g., Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice).
- One year experience working with word processing, spreadsheets and applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills: Ability to read and interpret safety policies, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and effectively present information and speak effectively with associates, managers, regulatory agencies, and customers at all levels within and external to the company.
Description of the Position:
This Yard Controller associate will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment and asset protection in accordance with applicable company, safety, customer, inventory, and regulatory requirements. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes, monitors, and enforces safe work practices and a safe work environment by monitoring and testing alarm systems, fire systems, and fire suppression equipment for proper operation; conducting security inspections on building, grounds, yard, and trailers; monitoring inbound and outbound trailers entering and exiting the yard via computer applications; documenting accidents at the facility and ensuring reports are accurate and complete; and conducting research and reporting unusual activity to appropriate management.
- Conduct directed shrink related audits and report findings to appropriate supervisor or department manager.
- Follow appropriate legal, safety, and security requirements when identifying, handling, and documenting theft, and other suspicious, criminal, or unwanted behavior.
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, associates).
- Monitor and maintain awareness as it relates to environmental related exceptions (i.e. Hazmat, storm water).
- Provides information to associates and non-associates on asset protection policies, practices, and guidelines when required to do so
- Observes and reports associate and non-associate behavior, identifies and investigates signs of shrink, suspicious or criminal activities, secures merchandise, security risks and conditions, and completes documentation of incidents in a timely manner.

- Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
