Yard Control Associate-NIGHT Shift

Yard Control Associate Summary Responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include performing all duties in accordance with applicable company, safety, customer, inventory, and regulatory requirements. Duties include the following; other duties may be assigned: Responsibilities * Follows procedures and processes for gating in trailers (i.e., Correct trailer number, seal number, appointment number, appointment time and communicate with the dock to ensure proper appointment and drop doors are assigned and communicated to the drivers and enter into YMS. * Follows procedures and processes for gating out Outbound deliveries (i.e., Check trailer number, seal number and confirm club number for outbound deliveries) and enter into YMS. * Follows procedures and processes for gating out empty trailers (i.e., confirm trailer number, the trailer is empty and enter it in YMS. * Promotes safe work practices and a safe work environment by communicating with Inbound drivers on our yard safety procedures (i.e., One-way traffic, 15 MPH on yard and hazard lights on). * Follows procedures and processes for inbound visitors (i.e., Stops all inbound visitors at the gate, confirms identity, checks in with leadership to confirm entry and once approved informs them where to park and enter the building. * Follows general safety procedures and policies (e.g., wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)) while performing daily tasks. * May be required to walk or sit for extended periods of time. * Other duties as assigned. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 8PM-6:30AM $19.00 an hour Plus $1.50 Shift Differential Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, in a safety, compliance, or security-related field (e.g., Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. One year experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, and applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Safety Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, hearing protection, bump cap, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies. Language Skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, managers, regulatory agencies, and customers. Ability to speak effectively with individuals at all levels within and external to the company. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
