Division Office Manager- Environmental Health
Union Position- 17.17 per hour, 35 hour work week 8:30-4:30 M-F
13 PAID HOLIDAYS!

Description of Duties
· Performs duties as a receptionist for the department
· Answers phones for the department and assists with the main operator line of the health department
· Exhibits proficiency in data entry, retrieval, and form creation and maintains computer operations
· Performs general clerical functions of typing, filing, copying, and mail distribution, for the department
· Maintains office supplies and facilitates re-ordering of supplies
· Processes and distributes minutes from department meetings
Processes mail daily and record all revenue received
· Handles highly sensitive complaints and inquiries in a diplomatic and positive manner
· Keeps abreast of current trends and changes in law, policy, and rules/regulations pertaining to programs
· Participates in clinics and programs sponsored by the health department
· Performs appropriate emergency response duties as required
· Performs other duties as assigned

Is professional, mature, and self-controlled. Maintains strict confidentiality of client and office information. Displays organizational skills and ability to work flexibly and independently.
Education and Training
High school graduate with secretarial/business office experience/education; Associate degree preferred. Experience in a public health-related field is desirable. Knowledge and experience/formal training with computers required. Must demonstrate skill in using various software programs, IE operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Experience with systems management is highly desirable. Ability to type 40-60 WPM and have a working knowledge of office equipment. Skills proficiency must be demonstrated by the end of the provisional period.
Job Requirements
Requires vision adequate to read and analyze written and printed documents. Requires hearing and speech skills adequate to answer telephone calls and communicate with clients and staff. Requires manual dexterity to perform typing and other office tasks. Requires ability to follow verbal and written directions or orders.
