JOB SUMMARY:
Royals Charities is the foundation of the Kansas City Royals. The Kansas City Urban Youth Academy is the signature program of Royals Charities and has long been the neighborhood-level expression of our commitment to community impact. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting Royals Charities through initiatives, events, and programs tied to our Educational Pillar. This position will report to the Executive Director – Royals Charities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
- Work with the Manager, Community Partnerships & Events to support nonprofit organizations that fit within the Royals Charities Educational Pillar and determine opportunities to align and enhance our community and brand. Focus will be on the cultivation of new and existing relationships with organizations that support teachers, schools, and educational resources for children.
- Assist the Manager, Community Partnerships & Events with social media plan, and activation.
- Host nonprofit organizations that fit within our Royals Charities Educational Pillar at Royals Home Games.
- Work with the Director, Royals Charities Partnerships and Events to align Royals corporate partners with community events and activations.
- Maintain effective record keeping system to track program/event expenses and revenue.
- Maintain donor database and create mailing lists as needed.
- Provide overall support to the Community Impact Team and Royals Charities.
- Interact professionally with public, associates and fans via telephone, email and mail, and promote the Royals and Royals Charities impact into our community.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in a four-year institution, plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience in Marketing/Public Relations/and/or Fundraising preferred
- Strong time management, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
- Effective writing, telephone, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and handle multiple projects
- Detail oriented and able to work in high-pressure environment
- Proficient in donor database/fundraising software preferred
