Position Summary: Serves as an analyst in area of software vendor forms certification for a wide range of tax forms developed by nationwide software companies and businesses. Researches all business, technical, and other tax form requirements and translates these requirements into precise vendor specifications. Gathers and analyzes software from vendors in order to certify they meet the functional, legal and design requirements of the Kansas Department of Revenue (KDOR). Routes forms through a test process. Communicates with vendor designers and programmers on failed tests and requirements for resubmittal. Makes presentations on behalf of KDOR at national software vendor conferences. Also serves as liaison with webmaster to update forms and publications on KDOR web site and responds to web questions pertaining to forms. Updates and creates new forms that are used both internally and externally. Works with the business users to approval all form changes to get final approval. Serves as the administrator of Form ID's and Form Numbers that are used for processing the forms. Makes external forms American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant before they are placed on the web.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Experience: Two years of experience collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, InDesign, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
