KsFiberNet is looking for a Network Design Specialist to join our team who possesses a passion for problem solving, learning and attention to detail. In this entry level position, you will perform a range of duties related to supporting telecom network design, service delivery and network documentation. In addition, you’ll be creating and maintaining circuit documentation in the KFN circuit database – CircuitVision. The successful candidate will be trained in using the CircuitVision – cvNetwork system and will have opportunities for additional development & advancement.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge / Experience in a telecom or related field is highly desirable
- Understanding of LOA/CFA and knowledge of customer facility assignments and secondary connections is desirable
- Basic understanding of Optical Networking is desirable
- Basic understanding of OSI Layer 2 Ethernet Networking and VLAN tagging is desirable
- Basic understanding of OSI Layer 3 IP Networking, addressing and subnetting is desirable
- Must be detail-oriented to ensure network uptime and stability during provisioning activities
- Must have good organization and time management skills with a focus on organizing, prioritizing and completing tasks on time and within budget
- Must have the ability to learn and master proprietary software programs like CircuitVision and other workplace applications
- Must have an ability to communicate with all customers, peers and business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain circuit and design layout records.
- Allocate network resources including bandwidth, facilities, equipment and associated addressing.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers and network affiliates to gather details for order creation.
- Interface with customers to coordinate service order dates, equipment installation, test and turn-up activities.
- Coordinate schedules, deployment and installation of fiber, equipment required to test and deliver new services with KFN internal engineering teams.
- Create LOA/CFA documents and maintain related records.
- Other duties as assigned.
