100% Remote but 10%-20% onsite preferable due to the seniority of the role.
The organization has an opportunity for a senior level Workday Finance Director/Lead.
The ideal candidate has a finance/accounting background (CPA preferred), and deep experience in the higher education sector in finance, as well as experience implementing Workday finance.
Core Duties/Functions/Responsibilities:
- Advise and guide the finance team, including leadership, on best practices for defining a Foundation Data Model (FDM) that will comply and align with Illinois Program Accounting Manual, while also supporting transformational process and reporting changes.
- Serve as a Project Lead for the Workday Finance team, helping the organization's team fully participate in all project activities including planning, designing, building, testing and deploying Workday.
- Serve as internal Workday finance expert to help the team understand the functionality, but also to support effective decision making from small configuration decisions to larger, more impactful decisions.
- Report regularly and effectively both to the Project Team leadership but also the Finance leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of two full Workday finance implementations, serving as finance lead either on client side or consulting side
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in higher education finance
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to support true transformational change.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards, GAAP, internal controls, and higher education financial reporting
- Detailed understanding of how accounting data flows through various transaction cycles (A/P, A/R, Payroll, G/L, etc.)
