Summary of Job’s Purpose:
As a SCRUM Master you will oversee the Software Development lifecycle process in an agile environment. You will be part of multi-disciplinary SCRUM teams managing multiple, complex projects. You will be working closely with Product Managers, and Tech Leads to keep teams aligned on priorities and delivery goals
This role is based in New York City, NY, and is only open to individuals living in or planning to move to New York City, NY.
The Position:
- Managing and facilitating all agile sprint ceremonies
- Ensuring assigned project teams are following and evolving Agile practices
- Providing clear communication within the team and across teams
- Providing guidelines and suggestions for effective agile ceremonies
- Managing scope and allocation of work across the team during and following sprint planning
- Helping team identify issues/processes that can be improved (if team members do not raise or identify issues, the Project Manager helps bring it to awareness and facilitate solutions)
- Optimizing the velocity of the team
- Ensuring that the teams work aligns with the priorities as put forth by the Product Owner
- Managing dependencies and facilitating communication on status and risks of initiatives especially around inter-dependent tasks/code repositories.
- Facilitating the roadmap planning process for your team and help manage delivery and timelines for initiatives that ladder up to company OKRs
- Help manage and improve the escalation process
The Requirements:
- 3 years of project management/SCRUM Master experience in a tech-based environment-- only individuals with ad/tech experience will be considered.
- Detailed understanding of the software development life cycle using the agile model.
- Strong ability to stay organized while juggling multiple initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making, risk mitigation and follow ups
- Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to bring people together to problem solve issues
- Ability to predict challenges/risks and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
- Experience with JIRA or other project management tools
