Description: Design or analyze operational solutions for projects such as transportation optimization, network modeling, process and methods analysis, cost containment, routing and shipment optimization, and capacity enhancement.
Responsibilities:
- Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements
- Collect, review, and analyze logistic and operational system data, which involves the understanding of professional logistics and transportation engineering principles and practices
- Recommend solutions or changes to current or proposed system of operations to ensure efficient results; projects may vary in scope and complexity
- Assist with developing costing models, assumptions and risks for projects
- Assist with developing project improvement or current/future state proposals for customers and management
- Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or Key Performance Indicators for business units
- Analyze or interpret logistics data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation and warehousing
- Design comprehensive supply chains that minimize environmental impacts and cost
- Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the cost impact of logistic activities
- Ensure processes and operations comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations
- Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
- Manage third party companies that may or have engaged in work with KNA for logistics reasons
- Responsible for freight claims needed addressed with carriers.
- Assist with arranging overseas expedites, air shipments and imported/exported material freight.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good organizational skills.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% with limited notice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to help, if needed, in off hours from normal work schedule.
Work Environment:
This job operates remotely and, at times, in the manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
