Routing Specialist

We’re a regional distribution company located in South Jersey experiencing explosive growth and we’re looking to add to our growing and dynamic leadership team. This key Sunday through Thursday position is responsible for Routing, Planning and Scheduling of our daily deliveries and back-hauls as well as assisting in the management of our fleet and Drivers in the most efficient, safe and timely manner possible.

We're looking for a data/metrics driven Manager who has demonstrated experience in leveraging business analytics, has prior budgetary / P&L responsibility and who is experienced in presenting to Executive teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform daily routing for our fleet of delivery trucks; leveraging your knowledge of our delivery area to allow for optimized route planning.
• Incorporate back-haul requirements into route scheduling, as needed and actively work on expanding our current program.
• Schedule 3PL and provide freight quotes to internal departments as needed.
• Analyze/schedule loads and assign drivers to ensure all loads are dispatched with compliant drivers and equipment per DOT Regulations.
• Coordinate fleet capacity needs with operations leadership and drivers.
• Provide Leadership and coaching to all drivers with a commitment focused on safety and customer service.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations & Safety Compliance guidelines; validate driver hours of service to safely and legally facilitate the delivery of loads.
• Implement Transportation best practices and efficiency requirements.
• Communicate professionally, effectively, and timely with both internal and external customers/contacts.
• Perform other duties as required / assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities to include Drivers and the Dispatch process for internal and external freight.

Education and Experience Requirements

Must have 5 years Transportation Management Experience with demonstrated increased responsibilities.
