What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Scheduler position at Kaufman Lynn Construction?
Job Summary
This position will be approximately 70% remote, based in either Orlando or Tampa, with 30% travel to our jobsites in Gainesville, Sarasota and South Florida (1-2 days a week). The Scheduler will be responsible for the development, tracking and reporting of summary level and detailed construction schedules for all project proposals as well as projects during the preconstruction and construction phase. We are willing to provide relocation assistance for the ideal candidate.
- Create and develop baseline schedule in coordination with project teams.
- Assist the project teams in updating the project schedule throughout the duration of the project.
- Provide detailed scheduling reports for progress of the project
- Develop and implement project scheduler standards and procedures, monitor compliance, and initiate corrective measures as necessary
- Insure all planning and scheduling activities are in place, such as schedule development and updated progress reporting
- Provide consultation to company associates, architects and engineers, primes and trade/subcontractors, clients, etc. in planning and schedule analysis providing options for problem solution
- Assist the Estimating and Marketing Department on each project proposal by analyzing all contract and proposal data, establishing well-defined work activities, and creating a detailed and accurate schedule during the bidding/estimating phase
- Provide schedules that will be issued in contracts or bid documents
- Prepare summary level schedules for proposed projects which determines project duration, general conditions, as well as the general logic for the project
- Develop well-defined and properly sequenced work activities for each schedule, using data from the owner, architects, and subcontractors
- Partner with the Project Team to develop and maintain project schedules for all assigned projects, keeping track of project status and modifications. Meetings with project teams on site.
- Visit and walk project sites to verify start and finish dates on project schedule.
- Maintain project schedules by collecting as-built information, assessing progress data supplied by Project Team Members, and visual inspection
- Assumes overall responsibility for all project schedules
- Understand the flow and logistics needed for execution of the schedule
- Maintains historical schedule data when required that can be easily distributed to the necessary parties
- Proficient in Primavera (P6) scheduling software
- Ability to participate with the project team for presentations.
- Train Project Team Members, primarily Superintendent’s, on scheduling fundamentals as well as software and technical support
- Operate Balanced Work Front Scheduling Program
Job Requirements
- Eight-years of construction experience and 3 years of scheduling experience in the commercial general contractor business.
- Demonstrated mastery of Primavera Project Planner (P6) and ability to compile a complete schedule without supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and complete Project Logistics Plans.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct meetings with architects and owners to receive and present schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to teach others the basics of CPM and P6.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to participate in marketing presentations.
- Ability to use and teach Balanced Workfront Scheduling Program
