Title:
Motor Pool Supervisor
Provides overall direction and management to a group of employees with diverse skills, such as truck drivers, Heavy equipment Operators, dispatchers, scale house attendants who are supporting organic operations on the MCPP program. Assist management in providing oversight in staging of equipment and containers for ship backload operations; loading, and off-loading of ships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and coordinates the activities of skilled employees who are performing a variety of duties involving Heavy Equipment Operations and Tractor Trailer Operations.
- Provides technical advice on all matters relating to Fueling/De-Fueling Operations, Lifting using Heavy Equipment and Rigging Operations.
- Ensures employees are properly trained and certified in all operating functions.
- Ensures all required task are in compliance with specifications and time schedules.
- Performs administrative management tasks and prepares related management reports.
- Assists in the formulation of administrative and operations policies and procedures and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
- Provides technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where written guidelines are not available.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six (6) years of directly-related work experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- BS degree in mechanical engineering transportation, or other related discipline.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
- Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
- Familiarity with labor relations - union interaction.
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC card.
- Valid U.S. state driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
