Position fully remote out of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.
Perform overall scheduling activities for the current operational Space Science Mission Operations (SSMO) supported missions: Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE), Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS), Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), Parker Solar Probe (SPP), Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO), Technical Data Management System (TESS) and Wind, and for the pre-launch missions: Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) and Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (RST).
Interface on the projects behalf with all Deep Space Network (DSN) entities - Mission Interface Managers (MIM), Network Operations Project Engineers (NOPE), Network Operations Analysts (NOA), Resource Allocation and Planning Team (RAPT), DSN SCHED, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Navigation (NAV), DSN Predicts, Service Scheduling Software (SSS) Admins, Schedule Process Owner (SPO) Office, etc.
Generate requirements using Request/Requirement & Control Language (R&CL) and events in SSS for initial schedule generation.
Perform conflict resolution negotiation activities with all DSN users to maximize SSMO science data return.
Maintain spacecraft support requirements, flight view periods and scheduling constraints and guidelines.
Coordinate the delivery of accurate DSN view periods and other mission products needed for Resource Allocation Review (RAR) analysis.
Support project directed meetings.
Participate in RAR process by supplying Generic Support Requirements and Major Events, verifying and updating ApFee Files/User Loading Profiles (ULP) and assisting in the preparation of and coordinating the responses to proposals to clear high-level contentions.
Prepare weekly scheduling status reports.
Deliver plots, reports and schedule sorts as required.
Maintain project interfaces with Applied Physic Laboratory (APL), Near Earth Network Scheduling Office (NENSO), European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA/GSFC as it pertains to scheduling.
Operate (and test as needed) internet utilities, Common Allocation and Scheduling Tool (CAST), Service Preparation Subsystem (SPS), SSS and internally developed scripts.
Participate in process improvement activities.
Other tasks as directed.
Education & Skills:
- BA/BS degree in computer science, mathematics or related field with no experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in computers and application software including UNIX.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent.
Preferred:
- 3 years experience with network scheduling or 3 years related flight project experience.
- Experience with CAST, SPS and SSS.
- Familiarity with SSMO DSN scheduling user requirements.

Salary : $90,900 - $115,000
