Title:
Site LeadKBR is seeking an experienced leader to build, manage, and set direction for a team of teams supporting DoD flight test programs and experimentation events for the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC). As part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization supporting both U.S. Government agencies and commercial businesses, you will be joining a highly talented and experienced aircrew operations team that has provided over 40 continuous years of operational support to a large population of customers contributing to transformative capabilities for our national defense and transportation industry.
The Site Lead will provide leadership and management and be responsible for day-to-day operations for a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles, flight and ground safety, maintenance, engineering, test and evaluation, and logistics. The KBR Site lead will interface with multiple stakeholders from the local, state and federal government, the aerospace industry, the test and evaluation community, multiple DoD Acquisition Programs, and game changing Science and Technology project teams. The position is a combination of technical leadership and resource management. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of technical and staff capability, consistency, quality and efficiency related to development, test and evaluation, modification, configuration management, maintenance, and flight operations.
Additionally, the Site Lead is responsible for the organizational performance of the team and maturing the team’s technical capabilities: skills, methods, processes, and tools. He/She will drive effective mission execution while exemplifying a high degree of accountability, teamwork, and a high-performance culture. This position also offers a qualified candidate the opportunity to contribute as a UAS pilot. These responsibilities will include air vehicle operations in support of customer requirements and ensure successful mission execution, and you will work within a cross functional team composed of government and contractor personnel leading, briefing, and debriefing mission readiness and results. Position is based in Grand Forks, ND and limited travel may be required.
Education
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Science or Business.
- Must have completed an aircraft safety management course either from the DoD or FAA.
Experience
- Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of UAV and FAA operating concepts.
- Candidate must have at least 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry and 1000 hours total flight hours in a mix of both manned and unmanned aircraft.
- Experience in leading an organization operating and maintaining many different air vehicles and configurations is required.
- Flight Test experience desired.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) rules and regulations governing aircraft operations, and applicable DCMAINST 8210 series is required.
- Knowledge of DoD Aviation Safety Programs and Policy Required.
- Applicant must have the ability to direct aircraft operations planning, safety, scheduling, and execution in support of collateral tasks within the organization’s flight program.
Clearance
Must be willing to submit the appropriate documentation to acquire a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a federal security investigation.

Salary : $67,800 - $85,900
