Technician I (Quality Inspector)

KBR is seeking a Quality Inspector to support our SQ&MA for KBR’s Science and Space division. Safety, Quality and Mission Assurance (SQ&MA) Inspectors adhere to and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) requirements throughout KBR HELO / NBL facilities.
The QA provides inspection coverage of flight, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and training hardware in support of NASA events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : adhering to SQ&MA operating procedures, desk instructions, performing process surveillance on Work Authorizing Documents (WADs) ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, witnessing First Article Inspection (FAI), conducting effectiveness verification affirming corrective action plans that are put in place are effective through various means of monitoring, coordinating DD250 signing, along with performing inspection of contract end item(s), supporting open items review (ensuring all open issues / concerns are documented, properly addressed and / or closed), witnessing critical and highly complex tasks using detailed WADs, procedures, and drawings, visually inspecting hardware for damage, generating discrepancy reports and providing computer updates of hardware receipts and shipments in computer data base (SARAH) and supporting documentation, and recording critical data (pass / fail) criteria as outlined in WADs.
Provide support to Discrepant Control Area (DCA) ensuring hardware is controlled, segregated, and maintained. Inspectors receive in and issue out discrepant hardware with appropriate discrepancy report disposition.
Upon generating limited life reports, attach overdue tags for out-of-usage life, maintenance, calibration issues. Support Re-inspection request and Inventory report of DCA items.
Position Requirements :
Must be capable to reading, interpreting, and following electronics, electrical, mechanical systems, and subsystems procedures.
Perform final acceptance of all WADs verifying completeness and accuracy prior to closure. Demonstrate proficiency in operation of test and measurement equipment / tools as required in procedures applicable to ESOC and NBL labs.
Working knowledge of inspection techniques and methods required to support fabrication and testing of hardware. Ability to accurately enter data in SARAH database and perform research and contribute to problem resolution, when required.
Knowledge of quality assurance disciplines (operating procedures, procedures, processes, and other documentation) applicable the ESOC practices, is desired.
Demonstrate capability to make good judgement decisions relative to quality requirements, methods, and procedures. Must be a self-starter.
Position does require US citizenship or a permanent resident / green card holder status.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma; Associates a Plus
