JOB SUMMARY
KBW Financial has partnered with a company near Kittery, Maine seeking to hire a Controller. The Controller position will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting functions as well as overseeing a team up to 3 staff members. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will also part take in creating and identifying process improvements as needed in conjunction with assisting auditors for year end reporting.

  • Design, establish, and maintain internal controls
  • Analyze and interpret financial results and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports
  • Prepare month-end and year-end closings with associated journal entries
  • Work with management team to prepare annual budgets and forecasts
  • Manage, train and coach accounting personnel
  • Oversee and participate in payroll functions, A/P, and A/R when necessary
  • Manage accruals, account and bank reconciliations
  • Manage and review contracts for insurance, customers and vendors
  • Prepare for and assist with annual audit
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • 5 years accounting or finance experience
  • 3 years Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated competency in accounting principles
  • Advanced working knowledge of systems and Excel
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Strong financial analysis skills, excellent use of logic
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an early-stage high growth environment
