What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Manager position at KCI Construction?
Purpose: The Survey Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all Survey Department activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with the Operations staff (Project Directors, Project Managers, Superintendents)
- Transition into a leadership role in serving the surveying team by providing resource management, coaching, training, and mentoring
- Fully utilize survey equipment, software, and survey systems in performing and managing project surveying for the successful construction of the project
- Provide input into project scoping including supporting the estimating department, assessing Survey Department staffing needs, project scheduling, and coordination
- Promote a culture of safety among the survey staff members
Qualifications/Experience:
- 5-10 years of Survey Experience with heavy civil preferred
- Background in modern surveying methods including use of Trimble Business Center, Access, and Siteworks software for UTS, GPS, and stringless systems
- Background in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Background in Microstation is a plus
- Proven leadership
- Have a strong work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work independently and be a problem-solver
- A team player with a can-do attitude
