Job Description

The Payroll/AP Specialist will be highly skilled in managing all payroll related activities including but not limited to gathering, preparing, and submitting all necessary documents to process weekly payroll for the company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong organizational and time management skills, and can be trusted with sensitive information. Specialist will also process accounts payable invoices weekly for payment. Must work well with others as a team player, but also able to work alone with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Process weekly and bimonthly payroll

· Strong understanding of union time and attendance rules as it relates to base wages and fringe benefits

· Obtain, review and enter weekly timecards

· Process paper checks as well as direct deposit

· Understanding of all certified payroll requirements and reporting

· Understanding and familiarity with payroll taxes, benefits, union dues, and fringe benefits for unions and prevailing wage areas

· Manage garnishments, 401K deferrals, and other related deductions

· Prepare and process timely union payments, payroll tax deposits and required reporting

· Maintain Federal, State and local agency requirements of workforce reporting, registry and tracking

· Respond to payroll requests, questions and issues as they arise

· Communicate timely, concisely and respectfully with all levels of personnel

· Circulate accounts payable invoices to proper personnel for approval

· Code, enter and process accounts payable weekly

· Responsible for contract setup including but not limited to insurance requests and DAS processing

Qualifications

· Minimum of three years of union payroll experience required

· Experience in the construction industry required

· Attention to detail a must

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Sage Accounting, LCP Tracker, iCAS a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
