We're looking to hire an Environmental Scientist at a mid to senior level of experience to work in our Natural Resources Practice, in Nashville, TN. This position is open to experienced scientists in the field. This position offers someone the ability to be the ecology and permitting lead in our Nashville, Tennessee office and contribute to work in other states throughout the Southeast. This will support our stream and wetland restoration and mitigation work in Tennessee, TDOT projects, and other permitting and ecological opportunities.

This Scientist will work on environmental restoration projects involving streams and wetlands, NCDOT roadway projects, and other permitting and ecological services. Successful applicant must be willing to participate as both a team member and team leader as necessary to fulfill work assignments.
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in environmental permitting and ecology preferred.
- Direct experience with NCDOT permitting and ecology assessments.
- Acquiring ARAP, USACE nationwide permits, individual permits, TVA permits, and other local permits.
- Experience with municipal engineering/environmental services in various jurisdictions is a plus.
Skills
- Strong understanding of wetlands and streams.
- Ability to perform wetland delineations.
- Understanding of mitigation credit development.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS and other database management and mapping tools.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, strong task management and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with individuals in other geographies is a must.
Degrees / Licenses
- BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or Wildlife and Fisheries Management or equivalent is required.
- MS in relevant field or Registration as PWS or CPESC is a plus.
- Formal training in fluvial geomorphology a plus.
Other
Travel will be required through the Southeast region, with overnight travel required on occasion.
