Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • This position is for a Mechanic for our construction devision,with 10 years of experience.
  • The ability and work on a variety of equiptment; small Tools, small engines, pick-up trucks, dump trucks, mini excavators, and directional drills 
  • Hold monthly safety meetings and identify potential safety hazards and create a corrective action plan when safety hazards are recognized.
  • Experience welding and minor fabrication.
  • A valid current driver’s license
  • Have the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation is required. Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions, training and mentoring other mechanics with a positive can-do attitude are necessities.
  • Must possess leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Basic computer skills a must (Excel, WORD etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of 6 - 10 years of experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

 

 

Performance Expectations

  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Ensure your team is cross - trained and flexible
  • Submit and deliver timely employee reviews
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Work with management to improve our quality standard
  • Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements
  • Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Proactively resolves problems at the lowest level
  • Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting
  • Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week
  • Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
  • Understands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all times
  • Ensure all team members accurately record and report work each day on the forms provided
  • Ensure all team members perform all task assignments using the required industry standards
  • Ensure equipment, vehicle, and property security
  • Inspect and correct your team's work before turning it in
  • Manage the daily work routine of all assigned employees and assign job activities as required
  • Monitor errors and organize corrective action to continuously improve your team's performance
  • Review all work assigned to you before your team begins their work
  • Understand, enforce, monitor and document your team members' observance of company policies and procedures
  • Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goal
  • Has the specific knowledge to perform all duties
  • Maintains all required certifications and participates in training courses as required
  • Understand all applicable industry standards for your team's assigned tasks
  • Understand, monitor, and enforce all Federal, state, and local safety and occupational health standards
  • Understands all applicable industry standards for project and performs all tasks per standards and client requirements
