Fleet Maintenance Technician/Assistant

Job Description:
We are seeking a fleet maintenance technician/assistant to work in our maintenance shop.

Duties include diagnosing problems with different types of diesel trucks/other equipment and making repairs accordingly. The position responsibility include equipment inspections using specific requirements set by KFS and state requirements.

Hours:

• Monday-Friday
• 5 day schedule, Mon-Friday 11:30 am-8:00 pm with occasional overtime

Major Responsibilities and Qualifications;

The ideal candidate will need to have:

• 2 to 4 years of mechanical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (would prefer individuals to have electrical, electrical components, plumbing, refrigeration, welding)
• Have good communication, listening and observational skills related to fleet maintenance
• Willing to attend required courses as deemed necessary
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely and practice correct safety procedures
• Work flexible hours as needed
• Perform and/or assist in the performance of general fleet duties
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles, including oil changes, brake adjustments, grease intervals, etc.
• Ability to use diagnostic software to read and understand diagnostic trouble codes, as well as determine correct course of action to repair, using computerized and/or specialized tools
• Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, with ability to troubleshoot when needed
• Know the basic functions and components of air brake systems
• Performs other duties assigned by Fleet Manager
• Graduate of a technical school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company
• Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds
• CDL Class A or B (Class A preferred), ability to drive a manual transmission preferred

Education:
