You are a person who puts the safety of team members, customers, and products first and foremost in your work. You are passionate about providing coaching and education to inform, guide, enforce, and comply with safety standards. You are driven to achieve results, and possess the skills required to implement corrective action plans and reduce safety incidents.
We are AB&I Foundry and we are seeking professional and entry-level safety technicians (2) and those ready for management (1). We are the largest manufacturer of cast iron soil pipe and fittings in the Western United States. All products manufactured and sold by AB&I are 100% Made in America from recycled material. We also recognize our responsibility as long-time members of the East Oakland community to invest in continuous safety and environmental improvements to our facility. We operate our facility with the utmost concern for the safety of our workers, our neighbors, and the local environment, meeting or exceeding the most stringent regulatory standards.
You are focused on maintaining consistent presence on the floor, and eager to partner with others creating a united commitment to safety. You desire to achieve results by allocating team resources based upon skill and capacity, and strive to create a culture of accountability by holding yourself, your co-workers, and others accountable in an unfaltering manner. You pride yourself as a safety SME by seeking opportunities to share research findings, specialized knowledge, and raise the level of awareness throughout the workforce and organization. Ideally, (but not necessary) you have a CSP Certification, and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Safety or related area of focus. You have experience with CalOSHA, State and Federal Regulations, and Industrial Hygiene; or as an entry-level candidate, you have solid fundamental OSHA knowledge and are willing to obtain company sponsored certification.
