JOB DESCRIPTION for RESIDENTIAL HABTECH (PARAPROFESSIONAL)
The description of the program in which work is performed is a Residential Treatment setting for emotionally disturbed children who have met eligibility criteria for the At Risk Program. The program is designed to provide long term treatment services for children and adolescents.
WORK SCHEDULE (hours vary based off school schedule)
Monday-Friday (school days) : 7am-10am; 4pm-11pm; 11pm-7am
Weekends: 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm; 11pm-7am
Monday-Friday (non-school days): 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm; 11pm-7am
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS
Position requires continual observation of client behaviors in order to intervene as well as to prevent problem behaviors.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
This position requires the ability to move normally. No overly physically strenuous activity is recommended or required. Activities specified in PCP will be identified in orientation. Physical effort to operate a motor vehicle during outings with clients and staff may be needed. Employee may need to operate household equipment necessary for cleaning and meal preparation as specified in PCP, i.e. vacuum, can opener, broom, mop, microwave, oven, dishwasher, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
The services are generally provided in the residential setting. Work may be performed in a variety of settings depending on activity plans and client needs, such as, community outing, team meeting, residential facility, etc., as designated within the PCP.
REQUIRED & ADDITIONAL TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Required In-house trainings will be provided by qualified staff on an annually basis.
2 years of experience preferred
EQUIVALENT TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overnight shift
- Weekends as needed
