Job Title: Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement
Full-time/Part-time: Full-time
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 benefits (Company pays 80% of health insurance premium, matches up to 3% 403b).
Purpose: Provides leadership and represents KIB among strategic stakeholder partner groups, including other nonprofit organizations, coalitions, resident communities, and assigned funding agencies. Oversees internal departments including Community Engagement, Volunteers, and GIS Staff Geographer. Serves on senior leadership team, providing input on strategic directions and organization-wide decisions.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of, and well-established relationships with, civic and community leaders across Indianapolis. These relationships can be based on a variety of roles, including but not limited to: public partnerships, board service, professional affiliations, vendor/contractor agreements, and/or cross-sector working groups.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Management

Leadership of direct reporting lines, including staff in the areas of Community Engagement, Volunteers, and GIS departments (currently 7.5 FTE).

Create and monitor assigned department and project budgets that feed up to the board-approved organizational budget and financial statements.

Serve as primary Point of Contact for current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant, ensuring quarterly metrics are achieved and reported, and financial reports and disbursements are submitted and accurate per grant guidelines.

In partnership with CEO and/or other senior leaders, participate in identifying, soliciting, and managing significant ($100,000 ) philanthropic gifts and/or contracts.

In partnership with Vice President of Operations, serve as staff liaison to standing Programs Committee of the Board of Directors.

In partnership with the board of directors and other senior staff leadership (CEO, COO, VP of Operations, Director of HR, and Controller), provide seasoned professional input and decision-making to inform the direction of KIB.

Oversee and track the progress (measurements) of the people-centered strategies of KIB’s current four-year Strategic Plan.
Program Leadership

Steward existing relationships with collaborative groups, including but not limited to: Keep America Beautiful, Reconnecting to Our Waterways, Circular Indiana, American Forest Alliance, Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute. Respond to meeting requests for KIB representation and input into potential new collaborations.

Strategically create new collaborative groups, or initiate new partnerships, when appropriate to advance KIB’s mission.

Transition out of collaborative groups as priorities and needs evolve, both within the group and KIB.

Attend and represent KIB at internal and external events, including but not limited to: Greenspace Celebrations, neighborhood block parties, Volunteer and Donor appreciation events.

Participate in occasional program field projects, such as greenspace workdays, tree plantings, neighborhood cleanups.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required

Advanced degree in Public Administration or related field a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

8 years of related professional experience

5 years of management of staff and teams, including goal setting and providing regular performance feedback

Comfort representing the organization publicly, and sometimes with media present
