Full-Time School Nurse (Japanese-English Bilingual)

Schedule: Shift work for 5 days a week (weekend availability is required)

Job Location: Health Center at Keio Academy of New York Purchase Campus, NY

Job requirements:

• Japanese-English bilingual
• At least a few years of experience as RN
• NYS license as RN or transferrable license as RN from other states
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, the school’s senior management, other nurses and staff.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

General Job Description:

• Administers first aid, medications, and medical treatments to students as needed
• File and maintain students’ health information in compliance with HIPPA
• Coordinates health services with private and public health providers
• Assist to conduct physical examinations, vaccine administrations, various tests, medical screening and check-in processes for students
• Communicates with parents, school doctor, contracted vendors and relevant school personnel regarding students’ health
• Take on-call shifts (outside of health center hours of operation) 3 times per week while the school is in session.
• Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Health Center Manager
• Assist Health Center Manager to develops protocols and standard procedures for the school

Salary: $65-80K base (DOE) per full 1 year plus on-call allowance (approx $5000 per year)
