Position Summary
The Kelberman Center clinic is designed to support individuals and their families who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or a related developmental disability. Therapy services support individuals and families in the developmental disability community, who also present with social-emotional or behavioral needs. Based on an initial intake assessment, services are tailored to the needs of the individual or family by utilizing a range of modalities, including behavioral interventions, CBT, ACT, and other evidence-based approaches.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Social Work position would entail providing regular therapeutic interventions to a caseload of individuals and/or their families and collaborating with team members on best practices and ongoing care. Additional opportunities exist to provide behavioral intervention support and training to staff and other people the Center supports across multiple programs.
Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Activities include but are not limited to the following:
Under the supervision of a NYS licensed Psychologist or Social Worker, provide psychotherapy, intake/screenings and clinical assessments, establish diagnoses, treatment recommendations and treatment planning for adults, children, and families.
Promote the individuals’ recovery by coordinating, developing, and implementing, in partnership with the individual, the treatment process, development of a crisis plan, and to support follow up with goals and objectives established.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy to individuals and families enrolled in clinical services.
Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide clinical services to individuals and families enrolled in clinical services.
Documentation in the Electronic Health Record (HER) per regulatory or insurance guidelines and ensure compliance with all regulations.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy requirements as required by the Center and regulatory bodies.
Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team.
Meet all productivity requirements.
Promote the involvement of family or significant others in the recovery process.
Provide linkage, referral, and case management as clinically indicated.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the people we support files and records.
Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Center regulations and operating standards.
Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Center’s culture, values and mission.
Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.
May be assigned additional duties as required based on business needs of the Center.

Education and Experience
Master of Social Work Required.
Holds NYS licensure and current NYS registration in social work.
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License travel is required.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.
This position must comply with OPWDD regulatory standards and training requirements.
This position has regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and most recently in coordination with the regulations of the NYS Justice Center.

Job related tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or the potential for skin or mucous membrane contact from spills or splashes of these substances. May have exposure to unpredictable individuals and situations when working at Kelberman Center sites. OSHA Exposure Category I
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work during evenings, weekends.
The employee must have full sight and hearing with fluency in the English language. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to quickly address any emergent issues without losing focus on task at hand.
Ability to handle stressful and unpredictable situations.
