Position Summary
This position is an Adjunct, Nurse Aide training program primary instructor position. Responsibilities include teaching nurse aide students in the classroom, lab and clinical settings according to established standards set forth by the State of Michigan. The nurse aide classes occur in Battle Creek, Hastings, Coldwater and Albion and travel between sites may be necessary. Hours will vary between 6:45 am and 10:00 pm, Monday through Thursday with approximately 82 hours per month. This position reports to the Nurse Aide Training Program Manager.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in a classroom, clinical or nursing laboratory area. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and, may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate degree from an accredited college/university (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program.
A current Michigan Registered Nurse license that is in good standing.
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience with at least one (1) year of recent experience in long term care facility services.
Current Nurse Aide Training Program-Train the Trainer Certification.
Must be a resident of Michigan or Indiana.
Preferred but not Required
Experience teaching in a community college.
Experience working with a diverse population.
Previous experience and or knowledge in Nurse Aide Training Program State Curriculum.
Proposed Salary
Based on current Board-approved rate.

Essential Function
PRIMARY INSTRUCTION
Description
Teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses offered in face-to-face delivery methodology as a primary NATP instructor according to the Syllabus and State guidelines.
Teach based on program syllabus and course/clinical outcomes.
Evaluate, counsel, and advise students and report student progress and satisfaction.
Travel to Albion, Battle Creek, Coldwater and Hasting Campus and various clinical locations.
